Rick Nord, Retired Secret Service
Rick Nord Supervisory Special Agent Rick Nord retired after 25 years with the USSS. Hired in 2000, he was originally assigned to the Washington Field Office. In 2004 Rick was transferred to the USSS Headquarters where he held several roles in the Office of Protective Research and Technical Security Division. In 2008 Rick transferred to the Louisville Field Office where he served as the supervisor of the KY Cyber Fraud Task Force (KYCFTF) and was a proud Ambassador for the US Secret Service Forensic Services Division (FSD) who have a long-standing partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). In this role, he had the great fortune of educating youth in Kentucky and Southern Indiana about the dangers of social media, sexting, sextortion, exploitation, and trafficking.



Colin Seale, thinkLaw

Colin Seale, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, developed a passion for educational equity from his own experiences. Tracked early into gifted programs, he recognized disparities in opportunities among his peers. Drawing from his background as a math teacher, attorney, keynote speaker, and contributor to Forbes, The 74, Edutopia, and Education Post, he authored Thinking Like a Lawyer (2020) and Tangible Equity (2022). Colin founded thinkLaw, an award-winning organization that empowers educators to use inquiry-based strategies to close the critical thinking gap and reach all students, regardless of background.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted to the KASA office in writing via email (lisa@kasa.org), fax (502) 875-4631, or to 87 C. Michael Davenport Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601 no later than Monday, March 3, 2025. If eligible, refunds will be issued after the event, minus a $49 administrative fee.

Due to KASA’s commitments to various vendors and suppliers on your behalf, refunds cannot be granted for no shows, late arrival, or early departure.

Substitutions are encouraged to replace those individuals who are registered but unable to attend at the last minute. Please submit a written request to lisa@kasa.org. Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with the substitution. The appropriate member/ nonmember rate will apply.
 
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather, the event/workshop will proceed as scheduled. Hotels and venues have strict cancellation policies and will not allow us to cancel the event due to weather-related issues. As a result, we cannot issue refunds for registration fees or accommodations in the event of a weather-related cancellation.
