Session Basics

What to Include

  1. Session title (15 words or less) that clearly reflects the session focus and content.
  2. Type of concurrent session proposed (lecture, poster, cafe, etc.).
  3. A 75-word session description and learning targets using active verbs and clear, complete sentences.
  4. Presenter and/or co-presenters names.
Presenter registration required: All presenters register and pay the early bird fee of $399. Proposals are finalized in March, and presenters will be extended the early bird rate.

Strand 1: Driving Innovation with AI in Education

  • Explore practical applications of AI in classrooms and administration
  • Understand legal and ethical implications of AI use
  • Learn best practices for integrating AI responsibly
  • Dealing with investigations related to student behavior

Strand 2: Mastering Communication & Advocacy

  • Navigate political and financial challenges with confidence
  • Build proactive PR strategies for social media and community engagement
  • Tell your district’s story effectively and get ahead of the narrative
  • Stay informed with legislative updates and advocacy tools
  • KASA advocacy updates

Strand 3: Prioritizing Wellness for Students and Staff

  • Implement proven strategies for student mental health
  • Support teacher and administrator wellness in high-stress environments
  • Leverage KCSS resources for safety and mental wellness
  • Address emerging safety concerns with actionable updates

Strand 4: Leading Across Generations

  • Teach and engage the Alpha Generation effectively
  • Empower Gen Z teachers and foster collaboration
  • Manage and motivate a multi-generational workforce
  • Apply leadership practices that work in today’s diverse schools

Strand 5: Building Trust Through Accountability

  • Share success stories and data to strengthen community confidence
  • Develop transparent local accountability systems
  • Use storytelling and metrics to demonstrate impact

Strand 6: Legal Compliance & Equity for Diverse Learners

  • Stay current on education law and policy updates
  • Innovative learning for alternative education
  • Understand special education laws and compliance requirements
  • Implement equitable practices for diverse learners
  • Address legal challenges in school operations and student services

How Proposals Are Reviewed

Reviewers will evaluate proposals through the lens of the following questions:

  • Theme alignment: How well does the proposal relate to the event theme and focus areas?
  • Quality & innovation: Does it contain innovative, research-based, cutting-edge ideas?
  • Engagement: Will the content attract and stimulate attendees?
  • Replicability: Are the ideas, practices, and programs replicable?
  • Delivery: Are techniques current, diverse, and interactive?
  • Standards: Does it meet the high expectations of KASA attendees?
  • Practical use: Does it provide practical application?
  • Leadership impact: Will it help attendees lead schools effectively?
  • Registration: Are the presenters registered for the event?
By submitting a proposal, you are contributing to the professional development of Kentucky's education leaders while enhancing the practice of education leadership, communication, and collaboration.
