Tomorrow's Leader Scholarship

This program has been put on hold this year. We hope to bring it back next year.

KASA’s Tomorrow’s Leader scholarship, valued at $3,000, is an education administration scholarship that can be applied to tuition, textbook reimbursement, and a travel stipend for courses taken this summer or fall. It is designed to assist a KASA member seeking administrative certification. The award recipient will be announced May 15, 2019, and recognized at KASA’s Annual Leadership Institute, July 19, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
  1. Be employed as a full-time teacher or administrator in a local Kentucky school district.
  2. Be an active or associate KASA member for the majority of the school year in which the application is submitted and be an active member for the school year following receipt of the scholarship.
  3. Be enrolled in a specific program or course of study at a Kentucky university that leads to administrative certification.
  4. Submit your university program check sheet to verify enrollment. (Enrollment in a program that only results in rank change or mere enrollment in graduate level classes does not qualify.)
  5. Submit two letters of recommendation—one from the superintendent of the employing school district and one from a university representative with personal knowledge of the applicant.
  6. Submit a typed, personal narrative, 300 to 500 words in length, in MS Word format, that is responsive to the following questions,
“Given the attack on public education, what steps should we take as a body of school leaders to reverse this climate? How will the actions taken benefit our students, educators and local communities in Kentucky?
  7. Must not have received the award previously.
  8. Provide receipts showing payment to the university for courses and materials.

Narratives found to have plagiarism will disqualify the applicant for the award.
