These customized virtual sessions will focus on specific RTI at Work™ content while providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and receive feedback and suggestions for next steps to implement RTI at Work™. Sessions will be targeted to the needs of participants and specific content for the sessions will be determined collaboratively with associate and West Kentucky Regional Educational Cooperative staff.
Mike Mattos is an internationally recognized author, presenter, and practitioner who specializes in uniting teachers, administrators, and support staff to transform schools by implementing response to intervention and professional learning communities. Mike co-created the RTI at Work™ model, which builds on the foundation of the PLC at Work™ process by using team structures and a focus on learning, collaboration, and results to drive successful outcomes.
He is former principal of Marjorie Veeh Elementary School and Pioneer Middle School in California. At both schools, Mike helped create powerful PLCs, improving learning for all students. In 2004, Marjorie Veeh, an elementary school with a large population of youth at risk, won the California Distinguished School and National Title I Achieving School awards.
Assessment Customized Virtual Sessions

These customized virtual sessions will focus on specific assessment content while providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and receive feedback and suggestions for next steps to incorporate assessment into school practices. Sessions will be targeted to the needs of participants and specific content for the sessions will be determined collaboratively with associate and West Kentucky Regional Educational Cooperative staff.
Nicole M. Dimich has a passion for education and lifelong learning, which has led her to extensively explore, facilitate, and implement innovative practices in school improvement. She works with elementary and secondary educators in presentations, trainings, and consultations that address today’s most critical issues all in the spirit of facilitating improved support of student learning.
Nicole was a high school reform specialist, where she worked closely with school and district staff to support the implementation of small learning communities. This work included coaching individual and teams of teachers in assessment, literacy, and high expectations for all students. Nicole also helped facilitate and implement a data templates project in collaboration with the University of Minnesota. As training coordinator, she helped elementary and secondary educators design templates to track and analyze data.
A former middle and high school English teacher, Nicole was also a program evaluator and trainer at the Princeton Center for Leadership Training in New Jersey. She produced a training DVD that illustrates a protocol for examining the effectiveness of assessments and student learning. A featured presenter at conferences throughout North America, Nicole empowers educators to build capacity for and implement formative assessment practices, common assessment design and analysis, data-driven decisions, student work protocols, and motivational strategies.
Nicole earned a master of arts in human development from Saint Mary’s University and a bachelor of arts in English and psychology from Concordia College. She is pursuing a doctorate.

Sessions will be targeted to the needs of participants and specific content for the sessions will be determined collaboratively with associate and West Kentucky Regional Educational Cooperative staff.
John Hannigan, Ed.D., is an executive leadership coach for Fresno County Superintendent of Schools in California. John has served in education for more than 16 years as a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, and teacher.
Under his nine years as principal at Reagan Elementary in the Sanger Unified School District in California, John was the leader of a highly effective professional learning community. He and his staff were recognized as a California State Distinguished School, Gold Ribbon School, and an exemplary RTI school for both academics and behavior. The school received a Title I Academic Achievement Award, was awarded Platinum-level status for positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), and was selected as a knowledge-development site for the statewide scaling up of multitiered systems of support (MTSS).
John earned a doctoral degree and master’s degree in educational leadership from California State University, Fresno.
