RAE of Sunshine Foundation, KASA’s 2020 Featured Charity

Earlier this year, KASA’s planning team adopted the Rae of Sunshine Foundation as the 2020 charity and moment of inspiration for the annual leadership institute July 29-31, 2020. It was specifically chosen to shine the light on mental illness and to support the work of our Vice President Taylora Schlosser (Marion Co. superintendent).

The Rae of Sunshine foundation is named in honor of Taylor Rae, Taylora’s daughter, who took her life earlier this year at the age of 19. The Foundation honors Taylor Rae’s life and is focused on eliminating the stigma placed on those with mental illness, increasing access to resources and support for social and emotional health and wellness, and providing scholarships to students preparing for careers in this field.
