KASA Annual Leadership Institute July 27-29, 2022

Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellations must be submitted to the KASA office in writing by mail, fax or email no later than Friday, June 17, 2022.*
2. Substitutes are encouraged to replace those individuals who are registered but unable to attend at the last minute.
        The appropriate member or nonmember rate will apply.
3. Due to KASA’s commitments to various vendors and suppliers on your behalf, refunds cannot be granted after June 17
        for cancellations or failure to attend (no shows), late arrival, unattended events or early departure.
4. If eligible, refunds will be issued after August 15, 2022, and a $39 processing fee will apply. (This reflects the cost of
        materials prepared and purchased on your behalf.)

*Written cancellation or substitution is required to protect both KASA members and staff from the uncertainty and misunderstandings that may occur because of cancellations made by phone during a hectic work period.

Title: Surviving and Thriving in your School Leadership Role: Things you need to know that will make you a better leader. This session will assist new principals and assistant principals in managing the first three years in their leadership role. Learn the importance of establishing a mission/vision, how to balance and manage evaluation cycles, serve as the SBDM chair, work with school budgets, and work together as a leadership team. Leave with a tool kit of strategies to implement immediately. Q&A time along with role group networking provided.

Title: Leading Together: Building a partnership between Principals, counselors, and school-based mental health specialists This session will assist principals and asst. principals understand and complete the required Principal and Counselor Yearly Agreement while setting goals as an administrative team that will impact academic and social/emotional needs of students. Learn how to negotiate school duties and direct services, particularly those associated with enabling social/emotional recovery. Q&A time along with role group networking provided.

Title: Operation Administrators, the Scaffolding for a Strong District The work of the Operations Team is vital to the superintendent and district success. This session will feature a panel discussion of district leaders that will discuss ways to better support the superintendent as a leadership partner. Get to know other colleagues.
