Leadership and the Commitment To Student Learning
Leadership and the commitment to student learning from district to school to classroom.
The topic will be explored through two - half day sessions.
1. November 15, AM Session (9:00-11:00)
How do we build and support a district or school culture where student achievement and student ownership are the celebrated outcomes? In this session we will examine the connections between teaching and learning and student ownership of learning. Join the conversation to discuss professional development strategies that strengthen alignment and collective efficacy from the district, administrator, coach or the teacher leader level to lead and inspire your community of educators.
Key reflective question: How do I lead, inspire, coach or support others from my role, so all students are achieving and owning their learning?
2. November 16, AM Session (9:00-11:00)
Are we student learning driven (or- Is our district and school culture grounded in student learning): Aligning the professional learning from the district level to the PLCs? In this half-day training, participants from the district, administrator, coach or teacher leader levels will examine how professional learning can be aligned to student learning needs and student ownership. This session will support participants with specific strategies and tangible actions to accelerate their impact on student learning. Participants will leave with strategies to improve the depth of professional learning support, whether it’s offered by the district, the principal or a coach leading PLC. and connect the topics to current student learning needs.
Key reflective question: Does the work I do at my level or from my role have an impact on student learning?
