The Clark County Board of Education, Winchester, Kentucky, is seeking a highly skilled leader to become the district’s next superintendent. He/she must be student centered, have expertise with effective teaching, learning and assessment practices, and must demonstrate an understanding of all facets of the superintendent’s role, including school finance, personnel law, healthy and safe school environments, and the ability to effectively delegate authority. In addition, this individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to bring people together to serve the children and families of Clark County.
Clark County Schools, located in the beautiful Bluegrass Region of Kentucky, serves 5,475 students in preschool through 12th grade. The district is comprised of nine schools: Clark Co. Preschool, Strode Station Elementary, Shearer Elementary, Justice Elementary, Conkwright Elementary, Baker Intermediate, Campbell Junior High, Phoenix Academy, George Rogers Clark High School and the Area Technology Center.
Clark County is a beautiful community surrounded by rolling farmlands, historic sites, and is home to the Winchester Campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
Clark County is part of the Lexington-Fayette Kentucky metropolitan area, providing multiple entertainment and recreational opportunities.
