The program is designed to teach students how to create, start, and run a business in their community. School Crisis and Liability

This training reviews cases where school personnel have been sued over issues such as failure to obtain parental consent before telling students the truth about a crisis situation and analyzes legal action against school personnel for failure to notify parents when students engaged in self-injury or suicidal behavior. Participants will review key issues, court decisions, best practice suicide postvention, and discuss legal consequences of inadequate threat assessment in schools.

Threat Assessment Team Implementation

Trafficking of Children: Identification and Resources

In this presentation, the current state of the laws on human trafficking and what the Office of Trafficking and Abuse Prevention and Prosecution is responsible for will be presented. The session will also discuss the signs of human trafficking, particularly in youth, and what to do if one suspects a child is being trafficked. Finally, we will discuss resources that are available to survivors and how those can be accessed.
