Maggie Allen of Floyd County Schools Receives Prestigious KASA Office Professional Award
Ms. Maggie Allen, secretary to the superintendent of Floyd County Schools, is the 2024 recipient of the KASA Office Professional Award, a statewide recognition. She will be presented the award today at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
The KASA Office Professional Award is an annual accolade bestowed upon a remarkable school or district office professional who exemplifies unwavering commitment, resourcefulness, and professionalism while embodying a positive attitude. It recognizes individuals who serve as the vital pulse of their office and significantly contribute to the efforts of the leadership team. This esteemed award holds significant prestige among educational staff statewide.

SEEK Transportation Funding
The legislature touted the SEEK transportation appropriation as being 90% in FY25 and 100% in FY26 for transportation costs. That is probably true if you apply those percentages to the cost of transportation in FY23, which KDE calculated to be $398,623,246 for all districts, but the FY24 calculation that was released on March 1, well before the budget was finalized, estimates the cost to be $484,014,845 statewide.
