KASA/KASBO Finance Seminar

KASA and KASBO (KY Association of School Business Officials) are teaming up to offer a unique training opportunity for their respective memberships.

The one-day seminar will focus on the recent infusion of federal dollars in Kentucky school districts from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund I and II, and the American Rescue Plan-Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund. The goal is to provide pertinent information related to guidance on best-practices, federal and state compliance, and what happens when the federal dollars are gone.

Additionally, time will be dedicated to another pressing, and always important topic, school district tax rates. Many districts are beginning to discuss the upcoming tax rates in conjunction with new federal dollars and ask, “How can we increase tax rates when we have more money than anytime in recent history?” This session will also include the tax rate establishment process, various options to school districts, and how to present tax rate options to a non-finance, non-school district audience.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Galt House from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
