KY Superintendent of the Year Award


Floyd County Superintendent, Dr. Henry Webb was named the 2017 Kentucky Superintendent of the Year in a 
surprise ceremony Wednesday, November 16. He was presented with a bronze eagle sculpture to commemorate the award, a $2,500 scholarship for a high school senior in his district, and a SOY ring. He will also be recognized at the KY Association of School Superintendents Winter Conference, December 7.

Dr. Webb will move on to compete for the National Superintendent of the Year Award, given by the American Association of School Administrators in February 2017.



Timeline


Nominations are now closed

November 1 - KY SOY announced and moved into the national program competition

December 15 - A Blue Ribbon Selection Committee determines the four finalists for the National Award

January 12 - Four finalists participate in a national briefing and interviews at the National Press Club

March 2-4 - National Superintendent of the Year is announced; All State Superintendents of the Year are honored on stage at the AASA National Conference on Education, a private reception is held for the National and State Superintendents of the Year following the conference. KY event is held to honor the KY SOY.
