Making Sense of Personalized Learning

Session Overview

Though conversations about personalization are rampant, there remains shockingly little agreement on a definition.  Additionally, many conversations around personalized learning take on a “kitchen sink” dynamic where many other approaches (e.g., mastery learning, universal design) are simultaneously discussed to the point of absolute confusion. With no clear definition and muddled conversations, substantive progress is severely limited.

Join us for this training where we will make sense of personalized learning and discuss ways of implementing it at scale.  Specific topics for exploration include the following:

  • The challenge of defining personalization – What it is, and what is isn’t
  • Overcoming personalization’s research dilemma
  • Ways to bring clarity
  • Areas to explore with caution
  • Practical ideas on implementation
